Jacob Maloley, 11, captured his second Michigan state all-around gymnastics championship, winning the Boys Level 6 division. Maloley will soon attempt to also defend his Midwestern Regional title. Jacob has now won the all-around title in 10 of his last 11 meets over the past two years, including regional meets such as Circle of Stars (Indianapolis), the Windy City (Chicago), and the Blaine Wilson Classic (Columbus, Ohio). Home-schooled by his parents, Matthew and Rebecca Maloley of Grandville, Jacob trains 12 hours per week at Gymnastics Unlimited, under the direction of coaches Dustin Wynsma and Steve Kovacs, plus an additional four hours for a Future Stars/Junior Olympic program. In addition to his gymnastics prowess, Jacob also sings with the Grand Rapids Choir of Men and Boys.
